WIG wins Indoor Connectivity Award at Connected Britain 2026
Wireless Infrastructure Group (WIG) has been named winner of the Indoor Connectivity Award at the Connected Britain Awards 2026, recognising the successful delivery of multi-operator 4G and 5G connectivity across three of the UK’s largest and busiest airports.
The award celebrates WIG’s work at Manchester Airport, London Stansted Airport and London Luton Airport, where industry-leading indoor mobile infrastructure was delivered through a single, integrated programme. Across all three locations, WIG designed and deployed high-performance neutral host networks, significantly enhancing mobile connectivity for passengers, airport staff, airlines and on-site businesses.
Together, the three airports serve tens of millions of passengers annually and represent some of the most demanding connectivity environments in the UK. Working in close partnership with each airport, WIG delivered shared mobile infrastructure that enables all UK mobile network operators to provide seamless 4G and 5G services through networks which enable a consistent and high-quality user experience across each site.
Delivering the programme required overcoming significant technical and operational challenges. All three airports remained fully operational throughout deployment, requiring careful coordination around live passenger environments, aviation security requirements and critical airport operations. Despite this complexity, the entire programme was successfully completed by WIG’s team within 12 months.
