The challenge
Given the high daily footfall on the estate from tenants, employees and visitors, Canary Wharf Group (CWG) needed a robust mobile connectivity solution that could meet current demands but also scale for future development phases and evolve in line with future mobile technologies. The modern architecture of office buildings on the estate comprising energy efficient glass, steel and concrete posed significant challenges for mobile signal penetration, resulting in poor connectivity indoors, particularly in the offices, shops, restaurants and high-traffic areas.
The solution
Wireless Infrastructure Group (WIG) was selected to deliver a comprehensive and robust mobile connectivity solution across the Canary Wharf campus. Recognising the critical importance of seamless and reliable mobile connectivity in such a high-density, high-demand environment, we designed, deployed and now operate one of the largest campus networks in the country in partnership with CWG and the Mobile Network Operators.
