WIG proudly continues its support for The Polar Academy as they embark on their 2025 expedition

Wireless Infrastructure Group (WIG) is proud to continue its support for The Polar Academy in 2025, reinforcing its commitment to helping young people gain confidence and resilience through a life-changing experience.  As the 2025 team of determined teenagers embark on their Arctic journey, WIG would like to extend its best wishes for a successful expedition.

The Polar Academy is a unique charity that transforms the lives of ‘invisible’ young people, those struggling with low self-esteem and confidence, by preparing them for a life-changing Arctic expedition. Through months of intensive training, participants develop the mental resilience and physical strength needed to navigate one of the world’s toughest environments. This challenging journey builds leadership, self-belief and determination, proving that obstacles can be overcome with the right support and mindset. Upon their return, these young adventurers inspire their peers, showing that with perseverance and courage, anything is possible.

Since its launch in 2014, The Polar Academy now has over 200 graduates. After completing the program, each graduate goes on to speak to over 3,000 peers, inspiring them through their experiences in exploration.

Scott Coates, Group CEO of Wireless Infrastructure Group, said “The Polar Academy provides young people with a truly life-changing experience, pushing them beyond their limits and helping them develop resilience and confidence that will stay with them for life. Craig and his team are such an inspiration to us at WIG and we wish this year’s young explorers every success as they take on this challenge.”

Craig Mathieson, Founder of The Polar Academy, added “The work we do to support young people would not be possible without the commitment of our partners. Wireless Infrastructure Group has provided us with invaluable financial and personal support over the years and we are incredibly grateful for their ongoing involvement. Their dedication and understanding of the impact our programme has on young lives make them a valuable partner.”
