Wireless Infrastructure Group (WIG), the UK market leader for neutral host infrastructure and connectivity, has been accredited as a\u00a0Living Wage employer<\/a>. The Living Wage commitment at WIG will ensure that every employee receives at least \u00a312 per hour, in accordance with The Living Wage standards established on 24th<\/sup>\u00a0October 2023.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The real Living Wage is the only UK wage rate calculated according to the costs of living. Employers choose to pay the real Living Wage on a voluntary basis, recognising the value of their workers and ensuring that a hard day\u2019s work receives a fair day\u2019s pay.<\/p>\n

In Scotland, more than 10% of jobs pay less than the real Living Wage. However, WIG has joined a cohort of 3,600 employers committed to ensuring their employees are paid the real Living Wage, guaranteeing fair compensation for their ongoing dedication and hard work.<\/p>\n

Since 2011, the Living Wage movement has delivered a pay rise to over 460,000 individuals, injecting an additional \u00a33 billion into the earnings of low paid workers.<\/p>\n

Peter Kelly, Director of The Poverty Alliance said:\u00a0\u201cWe all need an income that is enough to cover our needs and protect us from poverty, and it\u2019s only right that employers pay a wage that reflects the cost of living. Too many workers in Scotland are paid less than the real Living Wage and, at a time of rising costs, are struggling to stay afloat. The real Living Wage can offer protection from those rising costs. Congratulations to Wireless Infrastructure Group on their Living Wage commitment, and I hope more organisations follow their lead by becoming Living Wage accredited.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
